Loving our motherland is a value of morality which becomes thinner day by day. The existence of free market and foreign culture which come in freely is one of the causes why the love for our motherland and all of the culture inside it begins to fade out. Even, it feels difficult to find teenagers who respect the country’s ideologies in this modern era.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Growing the love for the motherland is not easy. This love should be started from our
heart naturally. For example, if we have children at home, we can tell them the history of our nation in their spare time as the substitution of the fairy tale. Besides, we can also encourage them to listen to national songs.
Ladies and gentlemen,
As students, there are many things that we can do to realize our love to our country. For example, we can study diligently as the effort to be high quality young generation. Moreover, we can always use our national language, bahasa Indonesia, and local languages to communicate in daily life. Even though there are many slang languages that are used by young people, we must try to use our language well and right.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Loving our motherland can be started by caring and respecting the symbols of countries, such as our flag, and Garuda. We also have to love domestic product. Even though there are so many imported goods nowadays, we have to be sure that those goods have same quality with the local products.
Ladies and gentlemen,
We also have to always attend the flag ceremony. All of those deeds are the form of our love to Indonesia. Furthermore, as the realization of our love to Indonesia, we an begin with small thing like keeping the cleanness of our environment around us, not littering, not cutting the tree carelessly, and holding charity event for orphans are also the form of realization of our love to Indonesia.
Ladies and gentlemen,
School is one of the places that could be a mean to grow the love for our motherland. At school, we can learn about our cultures, historical places, temples, local cultures, and traditional dances. We can know our heroes by learning history subject. Celebrating heroes’ day, Kartini day, and Independence Day are also the realization of loving Indonesia.

From those things that we can do to show our love to Indonesia, there is one thing that is really basic and important for us. Being the best version of ourselves and bringing benefit for people who need us are the best form of expressing our love to our motherland, Indonesia.
